AiderDesk
Desktop GUI for the Aider AI coding assistant.
About
AiderDesk is an Electron-based desktop application that wraps the Aider AI coding assistant in a full graphical interface, removing the need for a terminal workflow. It embeds Aider's git-aware editing engine with all Aider flags supported, and adds multi-project tabs, delegated task lists, and a built-in terminal.
It offers multiple chat modes (Agent, Code, Ask, Architect, Context), an integrated diff viewer with one-click reverts, smart context management via IDE plugins for IntelliJ IDEA and VS Code, and MCP server extensibility so the agent can reach external tools like web search. A usage dashboard tracks API token consumption and cost across tasks. Installation is one-click with no Python or toolchain setup required.
What it can do
- Full GUI over Aider's git-aware editing engine
- Agent, Code, Ask, Architect, and Context chat modes
- Multi-project tabs and session management
- MCP server support for external tools
- Token usage and cost tracking dashboard
