About

BigJPG is an AI image upscaler whose deep convolutional network is tuned specifically for anime, manga, cartoons, and line art, reducing jagged edges and noise while preserving flat colors and line boundaries. A separate Photo mode handles regular photographs.

The free plan includes 20 images per month, files up to 3000x3000 pixels and 5MB, with enlargement up to 4x on shared servers, and no watermark on free upscales. Paid plans are one-time payments (Basic $6 for two months, Premium $22 for 12 months) supporting up to 50MB files, 16x enlargement, and batch mode. Apps exist for web, Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, plus an API.

Trade-offs: free processing is slow at peak times, photographic results lag behind dedicated photo upscalers like Topaz, and the default server is in mainland China (registered users can select a US server). The service does not name a founder or parent company on its public site.
