CCManager

Run and switch between multiple AI coding-agent sessions across Git worktrees: one TUI with live busy, waiting, and idle status.

About

CCManager is a terminal UI for running several AI coding-agent sessions in parallel, one per Git worktree, with a single menu to switch between them. Each session shows a live status indicator, busy, waiting for input, or idle, so you can see at a glance which agent needs attention instead of tab-hopping through terminals. It supports Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, Cursor Agent, Copilot CLI, Cline, OpenCode, and Kimi, with configurable command presets and fallbacks per agent.

Beyond session switching it manages the worktrees themselves: create, merge, and delete them from inside the TUI, run sessions in the background, copy session data between worktrees, and hook status changes to notifications or scripts. Unlike tmux-based alternatives it is fully self-contained with no tmux dependency, and unlike Claude Squad it shows real session state in the menu. At 1,200+ stars and MIT it is the newer, lighter answer to multi-agent juggling. The caveat is youth: it is a fast-moving single-maintainer project, and worktree-based workflows assume you are comfortable with Git worktrees in the first place.

What it can do

  • Parallel agent sessions across Git worktrees in one TUI
  • Live status per session: busy, waiting for input, idle
  • 8 supported assistants: Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI, Cursor Agent, Copilot CLI, Cline, OpenCode, Kimi
  • Worktree create/merge/delete from inside the UI; multi-project mode
  • Session data copying between worktrees; devcontainer integration
  • Status-change hooks for notifications and automation; no tmux dependency

Setup

  1. Install globally: npm install -g ccmanager.
  2. Run ccmanager in (or pointing at) your project; it discovers Git repos and worktrees.
  3. Create sessions per worktree with your agent of choice (Claude Code, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, etc.).
  4. Switch with the menu, watch the live status indicators, and use keyboard shortcuts (customizable) to navigate.
  5. Configure per-project agent commands and status-change hooks (e.g. desktop notifications) in the config file.

Prerequisites

Node.js; Git with worktree support; at least one supported AI coding-agent CLI installed.

Trust score — 7/10

/10 trustVerified

Scored 7/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: 1,263 GitHub stars (GitHub API), MIT, pushed Oct 15 2026; the README documents the 8 supported assistants, the worktree management, the live status model, and the npm install; the no-tmux positioning vs Claude Squad is explicit. Strengths: fills the multi-agent session gap cleanly, self-contained, very active. Docked for: (1) small community, single-maintainer pace; (2) worktree workflows assume Git comfort; (3) several similarly-named forks exist, use the kbwo canonical repo. License: MIT.
