About
AgentKit is Coinbase Developer Platform's open-source toolkit for bringing AI agents on-chain. It gives agents wallet-backed actions: checking balances, transferring and trading tokens, deploying ERC-20 and ERC-721 contracts, minting NFTs, registering Basenames, using the testnet faucet, and trading Zora Wow coins. The core is framework-agnostic, with extensions for LangChain, the Vercel AI SDK, the OpenAI Agents SDK, and MCP.
The monorepo (renamed from cdp-agentkit to coinbase/agentkit) ships TypeScript and Python packages plus a create-onchain-agent starter. It is actively maintained with documented contribution flows for adding custom actions, and official docs live at docs.cdp.coinbase.com/agentkit.

Setup
- Install the core package and a framework extension (e.g. cdp-agentkit-core plus the LangChain toolkit)
- Create a CDP API key at portal.cdp.coinbase.com
- Configure your wallet (CDP server wallet or smart wallet)
- Add the on-chain action tools to your agent
- Test on a testnet using the faucet before mainnet use
