Comate
Baidu's ERNIE-powered coding assistant, free for individual developers.
About
Baidu Comate (Wenxin Kuaima) is Baidu's AI coding assistant, launched in June 2023 and powered by the ERNIE (Wenxin) large model family. It provides code completion, code explanation, debugging help, unit test generation, and natural-language Q&A inside VS Code, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, and Visual Studio, with support for over 100 programming languages.
Its standout Zulu agent goes end to end from a natural-language requirement to working code, including setting up dev environments and starting services. Enterprise tiers add private and hybrid-cloud deployment so models can learn on company codebases.
Baidu reports millions of developers served and claims a large share of its own new code is Comate-assisted; the personal edition is free, with paid enterprise tiers.
