About

composiohq/composio (30.5k stars, MIT) is a tool-integration platform for agents: instead of hand-rolling every API integration, you get managed connectors with auth handled, exposed to your agent via MCP servers or the Python/TS SDKs.

The repo is extremely active (100 releases in 12 months, pushed Oct 2026) and docs live at docs.composio.dev with a quickstart. The convenience trade-off is architectural: managed auth means your third-party credentials flow through Composio's platform — fine for many teams, but a trust decision you should make deliberately.

What it can do

  • Managed integrations across a large app catalog with OAuth handled for you
  • MCP server exposure plus native SDKs for Python/TypeScript agent frameworks
  • 30.5k stars, MIT-licensed, 100 releases in 12 months
  • Per-connection permission scoping for least-privilege agent tool access
  • Docs and quickstart at docs.composio.dev

Setup

  1. Install the SDK: pip install composio or the npm package.
  2. Create an account at composio.dev and get an API key.
  3. Connect your apps (Google, Slack, GitHub, …) via their managed OAuth.
  4. Expose the tools to your agent via the MCP server or the framework SDK.
  5. Scope each connection to the minimum permissions the agent needs.

Prerequisites

Python 3.10+ or Node.js; a Composio account + API key; OAuth access to the apps you connect.

Trust score — 9/10

/10 trustVerified

Scored 9/10 (verified tier). Huge community (30.5k stars), MIT, relentless release cadence, and genuinely useful managed auth. Docked one point: managed auth routes your third-party credentials through their platform — a real trust decision, not just a feature. Integration-count claims are provider marketing — verify the specific apps you need exist and work before committing.
