About

Countly is an open-source product analytics platform with deep mobile roots: funnels, retention, behavioral cohorts, crash reporting, push notifications, and remote config in one stack. The Community Edition is free and self-hostable under AGPL, while the Enterprise Edition adds advanced analytics and managed cloud. The honest trade-off is that the Community Edition is feature-limited (most serious product analytics features sit in Enterprise), and self-hosting production requires MongoDB expertise.

What it can do

  • Funnels and retention analysis
  • Behavioral cohorts and user profiles
  • Crash reporting and push notifications (mobile)
  • A/B testing and remote config (Enterprise)
  • REST write API and plugins

Setup

  1. Self-host the Community Edition with Docker on Linux
  2. Install the iOS, Android, or JavaScript SDK
  3. Start tracking custom events and user profiles
  4. Upgrade to Enterprise for funnels, cohorts, and cloud hosting

Prerequisites

Linux server with MongoDB (for self-hosting)
