Databricks
Data and AI platform for building production agents on lakehouse data.
About
Databricks is the data and AI company behind the lakehouse architecture, combining data engineering, warehousing, and machine learning on one platform. It acquired MosaicML for about $1.3B in 2023 and has since built Mosaic AI into a full agent stack: Model Serving, Vector Search, MLflow-based evaluation, and Unity Catalog governance for every model and agent interaction.
In June 2025 it launched Agent Bricks, a managed service that auto-generates domain-specific evaluations and synthetic data from a task description, then optimizes agent quality and cost without manual tuning. Databricks also acquired Neon in 2025, which became Lakebase, its Postgres-compatible operational database for agent workloads. The company reported over $1B in AI run-rate revenue in 2025 and crossed a $100B valuation later that year.
