DataCebo
Company behind the Synthetic Data Vault, the open ecosystem for tabular and relational synthetic data.
About
DataCebo is the company behind the Synthetic Data Vault (SDV), the synthetic-data ecosystem that grew out of MIT's Data to AI Lab and is now one of the most-used tools for tabular and relational synthetic data, with around 3,600 GitHub stars, a reported 18 million downloads and thousands of research citations. SDV uses generative models to create realistic synthetic tables that preserve the statistical properties of the originals.
The commercial SDV 2.0 platform connects directly to Oracle, SQL Server, BigQuery, Spanner and AlloyDB, runs inside the customer's environment, and targets test-data generation, rare-event simulation and privacy-safe analytics, with self-service pricing starting at $500 per month for unlimited tables. The open library is source-available under the Business Source License. Caveat: BSL is not OSI-approved open source, which matters for strict open-source policies.
What it can do
- Generative modeling for tabular and relational data
- SDMetrics evaluation framework for synthetic quality
- Direct connectors: Oracle, SQL Server, BigQuery, Spanner, AlloyDB
- Rare-event and edge-case dataset generation
- Air-gapped and on-premises enterprise deployment
Setup
pip install sdv for the open library, or sign up at portal.datacebo.com for SDV 2.0 self-service.
Prerequisites
Python environment for the library; database credentials for enterprise connectors.
