Datadog Skills
Official Datadog agent skills — monitors, logs, APM, docs search, and audit via CLI.
About
Datadog Skills is the official agent-skills collection from Datadog Labs (MIT licensed), giving coding agents first-class Datadog operations knowledge. It ships ~10 skills: dd-pup (the primary CLI for commands and auth), dd-monitors (create, manage, and mute monitors), dd-logs (log search), dd-apm (traces, services, and single-step instrumentation), dd-docs (documentation search), dd-browser-sdk (RUM, Session Replay, error tracking), dd-audit (audit-trail investigations: key compromise, cost spikes, SOC 2 evidence), agent-observability (LLM experiment analysis and eval RCA), dd-software-delivery (CI triage, flaky tests), and dd-apps (build Datadog Apps). Installation is one command via the skills CLI, with per-skill selection supported.
The honest picture: the skills are a thin layer over the pup CLI and Datadog APIs — you still need a Datadog account, API keys, and pup installed and authenticated before they're useful. They're built for agents, so human operators get more from the Datadog UI and docs directly. As a vendor-published skill set, coverage follows Datadog's product priorities, and the repo's ‘datadog-labs’ org (rather than the main Datadog org) is worth noting when evaluating officialness.
What it can do
- dd-pup CLI: commands, auth, and PATH setup
- dd-monitors: create, manage, and mute monitors
- dd-logs and dd-apm: log search, traces, instrumentation
- dd-audit: security and compliance investigations
- dd-browser-sdk: RUM, Session Replay, error tracking
- Agent observability: LLM evals and experiment RCA
Setup
Install pup via Homebrew (brew tap datadog-labs/pack && brew install pup), run pup auth login, then npx skills add datadog-labs/agent-skills --full-depth -y.
Prerequisites
