Digma
Continuous Feedback: runtime code insights inside your IDE.
About
Digma is a Continuous Feedback platform that analyzes code at runtime — not just statically — to surface regressions, anomalies, N+1 queries, and scalability risks directly in the IDE as developers work. Built on OpenTelemetry, it watches local, test, and CI runtime data and flags issues before merge, including problems in AI-generated code. Founded in 2022, it raised a $6M seed round with backing from the co-founders of GitHub, Snyk, and Netlify among its angels. It is free for individual developers.
The honest caveat: initial language support centered on Java and IntelliJ, with other languages and IDEs expanding gradually — check current coverage for your stack. Runtime analysis adds local overhead, and the insights are most valuable for backend services with meaningful runtime behavior rather than simple CRUD or frontend code.
What it can do
- Runtime detection of N+1 queries, bottlenecks, and regressions
- In-IDE feedback as you code, before pull requests
- Validation of AI-generated code for scalability issues
- CI integration watching for unwanted regressions
- Built on OpenTelemetry with ML-driven analysis
Setup
Install the Digma IDE plugin (JetBrains first, more IDEs expanding) and run your application with the Digma agent attached. Free for individual developers.
Prerequisites
A supported IDE and JVM-based project for the deepest insights. OpenTelemetry-compatible runtime.
