Elements of Style

Strunk's classic writing rules as an agent skill for clear, concise prose.

Visit official site →

About

William Strunk Jr.'s 1918 Elements of Style, converted into an agent skill so coding agents can apply its rules to docs, comments, and prose. It covers the full reference — elementary rules of usage, principles of composition, and commonly misused words — in about twelve thousand tokens. Install it from the Superpowers marketplace. It's a reference text, not a workflow: it makes your agent's writing tighter, but it won't plan or review anything for you.

What it can do

  • Full Elements of Style reference text
  • Rules for usage, composition, and diction
  • Guidance on omitting needless words
  • Commonly misused words and expressions
  • Applies to docs, comments, and prose

Setup

  1. Add the marketplace: /plugin marketplace add obra/superpowers-marketplace
  2. Install: /plugin install elements-of-style@superpowers-marketplace
  3. The writing-clearly-and-concisely skill loads when writing tasks come up.
  4. Ask the agent to apply it: "tighten this README using the elements of style."
