About

Feedly is the biggest surviving RSS platform, founded in 2008 and based on the devHD/Feedly Inc. operation. It won the post-Google Reader land grab in 2013 and has stayed the default recommendation ever since: a clean web reader plus iOS and Android apps that turns blogs, news sites, Reddit communities, YouTube channels, and newsletters into an organized, readable flow. The free plan covers 100 sources in 3 folders, which is enough to test with but tight for serious use. Paid plans raise the ceiling — Pro (around $7–9/month) unlocks 1,000 feeds, notes, highlights, and search; Pro+ (around $13/month) adds Leo, Feedly's AI, which prioritizes articles by your reading patterns, generates summaries, deduplicates similar stories, and builds AI Feeds that track topics you describe across the web. Teams get shared boards, folders, and Slack/Microsoft Teams integrations at $18/user/month, and an enterprise Market Intelligence tier starts around $1,600/month.

Feedly's independent evaluations consistently call out the same split: the best interface and mobile apps in the category for people who already know their sources, but a free tier that gates search and all AI, and no built-in source discovery — you add every source yourself. There are no published independent benchmarks for Leo's summary quality; independent writeups describe it as conservative and low-hallucination relative to direct LLM calls, which is the provider's framing echoed by reviewers rather than measured fact. Feedly's ~14 million user figure is provider-stated.

What it can do

  • Web, iOS, and Android apps with a polished magazine-style reading UI
  • Leo AI: article prioritization, summaries, deduplication, and AI Feeds on described topics (Pro+)
  • Mute filters by keyword, author, or site
  • 1,000 feeds on Pro, 2,500 on Pro+, full-text search on paid plans
  • Notes, highlights, and saved boards (Teams adds shared boards)
  • Native Slack, Microsoft Teams, Evernote, OneNote integrations; Zapier and IFTTT
  • OPML import/export for migration
  • Enterprise Market Intelligence tier for biopharma and threat-intelligence teams

Setup

Create a free account at feedly.com and add sources by name, URL, or OPML import. Read in the web app or install the iOS/Android apps. To use Leo AI, upgrade to Pro+ and enable AI features under the Leo menu — set mute filters, priorities, and AI Feeds for topics you want tracked. Teams: create an organization workspace, invite members, and share boards via Slack or Teams integrations.

Prerequisites

A web browser or the iOS/Android app; paid plan (Pro or Pro+) for search, notes, and Leo AI; Teams plan for shared boards.

Trust score — 8/10

/10 trustVerified

Scored 8/10 (verified tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: operating since 2008; multiple independent 2026 reviews confirm free caps (100 sources, 3 folders), Pro/Pro+/Teams pricing tiers, Leo AI capabilities, and the native Slack/Teams integrations; the ~14M user figure is provider-stated on its homepage. Strengths: category-leading UX and mobile apps, real team features, long track record. Docked for: (1) the flagship user number is provider-claimed, not independently audited; (2) the free tier gates search and all AI; (3) no published independent benchmarks for Leo's summary quality. License: proprietary, freemium.
