Flipt
Self-hosted feature flags in a single Go binary, GitOps friendly.
About
Flipt is an open-source feature flag platform written in Go that ships as a single binary with no external dependencies for small deployments. Flags can be defined in Git as YAML or JSON and synced into Flipt, which fits infrastructure-as-code workflows, and it exposes both gRPC and REST APIs plus a web UI for management. Postgres or embedded SQLite back the store.
Flipt ships official OpenFeature providers, so applications can evaluate flags through the CNCF vendor-neutral OpenFeature API and swap backends later without code changes. It is listed in the CNCF landscape under feature flags. It is deliberately lighter than enterprise suites: advanced experimentation statistics and analytics integrations are thinner than in LaunchDarkly or Unleash.
What it can do
- Feature flags with segments, rollouts, and variants
- Git-based flag definitions synced via GitOps
- Native gRPC and HTTP APIs plus a web UI
- OpenFeature providers for vendor-neutral SDK integration
Setup
Download the single Go binary or run the Docker image; point it at a flags directory or Postgres. Add the OpenFeature SDK with the Flipt provider in your app.
Prerequisites
A deployment target for the binary; optional Git repo for flag definitions.
