Gentrace

Evaluation platform for testing generative AI pipelines.

Visit official site →

About

Gentrace is an evaluation platform built for testing generative AI end to end, not just prompts. You define pipelines that group test cases and evaluators, pull cases through the Node or Python SDK, run your pipeline, and submit results for grading by AI judges, heuristics, or humans.

It is deliberately model-agnostic: Gentrace scores the outputs of your pipeline as strings, so you stay portable across providers. Customers include Webflow and Quizlet. The platform is commercial SaaS and pricing is not publicly listed, so budget planning takes a sales call.

What it can do

  • Pipeline-based test organization
  • AI, heuristic, and human evaluators
  • Dataset-driven test runs
  • Production trace ingestion
  • Open-source eval helper libraries
  • REST API for any language

Setup

  1. Create an account and define a pipeline in the Gentrace UI.
  2. Install the SDK: npm i @gentrace/core or pip install gentrace.
  3. Initialize with your GENTRACE_API_KEY.
  4. Pull test cases, run your pipeline, and submit results for evaluation.

Prerequisites

A Gentrace account and API key; Node 16+ or Python 3.7+.
