About

Graphite is a code review and merge workflow platform built around stacked diffs — breaking large changes into small, dependent pull requests that can be reviewed and landed in sequence. Its CLI and dashboard handle stacking, rebasing, and merge queues, while Graphite Agent (formerly the Diamond AI reviewer) provides codebase-aware PR review, answers follow-up questions, and applies fixes directly in the diff. Cursor acquired Graphite in December 2025 and continues to operate it as a standalone product.

The honest caveat: it is GitHub-centered with no Bitbucket or Azure DevOps support, and the credit-based pricing for the AI reviewer can cost more than a flat seat in busy months. Being newly acquired, the long-term roadmap carries some uncertainty despite Cursor's commitment to independence.

What it can do

  • Stacked diffs: split large changes into reviewable dependent PRs
  • AI reviewer with codebase-aware comments and follow-up chat
  • Merge queue with dependency-aware ordering and smart CI
  • VS Code extension for branch and stack management
  • Keyboard-driven review dashboard

Setup

Sign up at graphite.com and install the Graphite CLI (gt). Connect your GitHub repositories; the VS Code extension adds stacked-PR management in the editor.

Prerequisites

GitHub repositories. Git installed locally for the CLI workflow.
