Grok Imagine

Grok Imagine is xAI's image and video generation product, built into the Grok app and the X ecosystem. Images run on Grok Imagine Image 2.0 (built on xAI's Aurora engine); video runs on Grok Imagine Video 1.5, generally available since June 2026. Its headline capability is native audio: music, sound effects, and lip-synced dialogue are generated in the same pass as the video, not stitched on afterward. Clips run 1–15 seconds at up to 1080p, with video extension, reference-guided generation, an Agent Mode canvas for stitching clips into longer films, plus projects, parallel runs, and a searchable library.

The honest picture: the killer feature is distribution — it's the only top-tier video model with first-party publishing into X's 600M+ MAU social network in the same session. But clips max out at 15 seconds, the consumer ToS carries no IP indemnification (only the enterprise agreement defends against copyright claims), and reviewers still point to Veo-class models for client deliverables needing provenance or maximum polish. Consumer access starts at $8/month via X Premium and scales to $300/month at SuperGrok Heavy; API pricing runs $0.05–0.07 per second of video.
