Internxt
Open-source, zero-knowledge storage with post-quantum encryption — 3 TB lifetime for a one-time €435.
About
Internxt is a Spanish (EU) cloud storage company, founded in 2020, that sells privacy as a one-time purchase: 1 TB for €285, 3 TB for €435, and 5 TB for €585 as lifetime plans, alongside yearly subscriptions with deep first-year discounts. Every file is encrypted client-side with AES-256 plus post-quantum hardening, the code is open-source and independently audited by Securitum (2024), and the company holds ISO 27001 and HIPAA compliance. Apps cover Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, and web, with a VPN, antivirus, photo backup, and video-calling (Meet) bundled on higher tiers. Share links never expire.
Honest limits: the free tier is only 1 GB with a 100 MB file cap. Read the lifetime fine print — Internxt's terms end lifetime at the account holder's 99th birthday, accounts idle for 12 months can be deleted without refund, and a fair-use policy allows throttling or closing accounts it deems excessive. Version history only covers office documents and only on the top two plans. No published independent speed benchmarks found.

Use cases
Works with
Trust score — 7/10
Scored 7/10 (VERIFIED tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: lifetime pricing, Securitum audit, and lifetime terms (99th-birthday cap, 12-month inactivity clause) from Gizmodo's 2026 review and Internxt's own terms via Gizmodo; 2020 founding from winningpc. Strengths: open-source and independently audited, strongest crypto story in the lifetime category, 30-day refund. Docked for: (1) lifetime inactivity-deletion clause and fair-use throttling in the terms; (2) tiny 1 GB free tier and version history limited to office docs on top plans. License: open-source code; proprietary hosted service.
