MCP Time Server
Official MCP reference server for current time and timezone conversion.
About
The official reference MCP server for time. It exposes the current time and timezone conversion tools — the small utility that stops agents from hallucinating dates. It runs as a Python package via uvx and has no side effects whatsoever.
What it can do
- Current time in any IANA timezone
- Timezone conversion
- Read-only — zero side effects
- Lightweight uvx execution
Setup
- Install Python 3.10+ and
uv. - Add to your MCP client config: command
uvx, args["mcp-server-time"](optionally--local-timezone). - Restart the client.
Prerequisites
An MCP-compatible client; Python 3.10+ with uv.
