Ten thinking skills: write-well, six-pager, council-review, and more

About

A personal pack of ten small, composable skills for deciding, writing, remembering, and improving — explicitly not code-focused. The writing standouts are write-well, which drafts or edits prose with a real voice from a craft canon (Strunk, Zinsser, Orwell, Ogilvy) and holds its own em-dash budget, and six-pager, which forces Amazon-style narrative decision memos with a required premortem. Also included: council-review (five-advisor debate), session-close (reconcile sessions into project memory), and claude-md (audit CLAUDE.md drift). Install with npx skills@latest add ngmeyer/skills. Thin-vetting caveat: 4 stars and 29 commits as of this writing — the content is substantive and MIT-licensed, but it has almost no community track record, so treat it as an individual's well-built toolkit rather than a vetted standard.

What it can do

  • write-well: voice-driven prose drafting and editing
  • six-pager: narrative decision memos with premortem
  • council-review: five-advisor decision debate
  • session-close and session-recover for project memory
  • claude-md: audit and improve agent instruction files
  • MIT licensed, single self-contained directories

Setup

Run npx skills@latest add ngmeyer/skills, pick your agents and skills in the installer, then invoke directly (e.g. /write-well, /six-pager).
