Porter
PaaS that deploys your apps into your own AWS, GCP, or Azure account.
About
Porter is a platform-as-a-service that spins up a production-ready Kubernetes cluster inside your own AWS, GCP, or Azure account and then gives you a Heroku-style workflow on top: connect a repo, push, and get automatic builds, zero-downtime deployments, and a preview environment for every pull request. The pitch is PaaS convenience without the PaaS lock-in — the infrastructure lives in your cloud, so you keep full control when you outgrow the abstraction.
The platform handles networking, VPC, monitoring, logging, load balancing, autoscaling (including GPU instances), automatic CVE patches, and one-click SOC 2 / HIPAA compliance in your account. Porter started as an open-source project (the original porter-dev/porter repository is no longer public) and now operates as a commercial managed platform with usage-based pricing. It targets AI startups and teams that want zero DevOps overhead on their own cloud.
What it can do
- Production-ready Kubernetes clusters in your own cloud account
- Git-push deploys with preview environments per PR
- Autoscaling, GPU instances, and cost optimization via Karpenter
- Automatic CVE patches and cluster version upgrades
- One-click SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance
