About

PR-Agent is Qodo's (formerly CodiumAI) open-source AI tool for automated pull request analysis. Mention @CodiumAI-Agent in a PR comment with a command like /review, /describe, or /improve and it returns an AI-generated review, a PR description, or concrete code suggestions. Self-hosted with your own API key, it runs against GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps, and the project is now community-maintained with an external maintainer as Qodo donates it toward an open-source foundation.

The honest picture: the hosted promo bot only works on public repos and has no edit access, so real usage means self-hosting with your own LLM key and CI wiring. Review quality depends heavily on the underlying model and prompt tuning — it can be noisy on large diffs. As Qodo's commercial focus moved to Qodo Merge, the open-source project's roadmap is community-driven, which is a feature for some teams and a risk for others.

What it can do

  • AI-generated PR reviews via comment commands
  • Automatic PR descriptions and labels
  • Code improvement suggestions inline
  • Multi-platform support (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps)
  • Self-hostable with your own API key
  • Community-maintained open source

Setup

Self-host via the GitHub repo with your own OpenAI/Anthropic API key, or try the promo bot by mentioning @CodiumAI-Agent on a public PR.

Prerequisites

A GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket/Azure DevOps repo; an LLM API key for self-hosting.
