Readwise

Read-it-later and highlight sync app with an AI reading assistant.

About

Readwise combines two products: the original Readwise, which resurfaces your highlights from Kindle, articles, and PDFs through spaced repetition, and Reader, a read-it-later app that ingests articles, newsletters, RSS feeds, PDFs, EPUBs, and YouTube transcripts into one reading inbox with consistent highlighting across formats. Every highlight flows into Obsidian, Notion, Roam, Logseq, or Evernote through native integrations, so reading compounds into a searchable knowledge base.

Reader includes Ghostreader, an AI assistant for summaries, Q&A, definitions, and document chat, plus text-to-speech with AI voices and an MCP server for AI assistants. Pricing is $9.99/month billed annually or $12.99 month-to-month, with a 30-day free trial and no free tier. It is firmly a premium product for heavy readers; casual readers will find the subscription hard to justify, and it is built for reading you save rather than proactive digests of what arrived overnight.
