Retain AI

AI copilot that turns game telemetry into retention and LiveOps actions.

About

Retain AI is an open-source analytics copilot for live games: upload gameplay telemetry (CSV, JSON, or streams) and it detects player behavior patterns, predicts churn risk, and recommends retention, monetization, and LiveOps strategies. Built with Next.js and TypeScript, with IBM Granite-ready AI workflows, capability-aware analytics, and cohort analysis.

As a self-hosted open-source project it fits studios that won't ship telemetry to a SaaS. The pitch is prescriptive ('what to do next') rather than just dashboards. Limitation: it's an early community project, not a managed service — expect to run and extend it yourself.

What it can do

  • Telemetry ingestion (CSV, JSON, streams)
  • Churn risk prediction
  • Player cohort analysis
  • LiveOps strategy recommendations
  • Retention and monetization insights
  • Data quality assessment

Setup

  1. Clone the repo from GitHub (github.com/magithar/retain-ai).
  2. Install dependencies and configure your AI provider.
  3. Upload gameplay telemetry as CSV or connect a stream.
  4. Review churn predictions and LiveOps recommendations.

Prerequisites

Node.js; gameplay telemetry data; self-hosting.

Trust score — 5/10

/10 trustMetrics-checked

Scored 5/10 (metrics tier, metrics-v1). Evidence: early open-source community project; fully self-hosted — no telemetry leaves your infra; not a managed service; expect to run and extend it. Manual review: prescriptive LiveOps angle is more useful than another dashboard. License: Open source (GitHub)..
