Scaniverse
Free 3D scanner app that turns phone captures into meshes and Gaussian splats.
About
Scaniverse is Niantic Spatial's mobile 3D scanning app for capturing physical spaces and turning them into digital twins. Point a phone at a room or object and it reconstructs meshes and photorealistic Gaussian splats, with exports in SPZ, PLY, GLB, and FBX. In April 2026 Niantic Spatial relaunched it as the front door to its spatial-intelligence platform, adding cloud processing, multi-user site projects, and integration with its VPS 2.0 visual positioning system.
The classic on-device scanning experience remains free and unlimited, which keeps it the default recommendation for hobbyists and indie developers. Paid Plus and Pro tiers unlock cloud processing, larger teams, and 360-degree camera scans for construction planning, robotics simulation, and AR workflows.
What it can do
- On-device mesh and Gaussian splat capture
- Cloud reconstruction for large areas
- Multi-user collaborative site projects
- SPZ, PLY, GLB, and FBX export
