SQLAnvil Agent Skills

Vendor skills for the SQLAnvil SQL workflow engine.

About

The official skill pack for SQLAnvil, the open-source SQL workflow engine (a Dataform fork) with first-class PostgreSQL, Supabase, and MySQL/MariaDB support. Two skills: a delta guide for authoring sqlanvil data projects and a convention checker that lints every .sqlx file an agent writes.

Honest limitations: narrow by design — it only helps with SQLAnvil, not dbt or raw SQL. The repo is young with 1 star, and the value depends on you actually using the SQLAnvil engine.

What it can do

  • SQLAnvil data project authoring guide
  • .sqlx convention linting
  • Cross-warehouse connection patterns
  • Version-pinned feature docs

Setup

  1. Run npx skills add SQLAnvil/agent-skills (auto-detects your agent).
  2. Or copy the skills/<name>/ directories into ~/.claude/skills/ manually.
  3. The skill pins sqlanvilCoreVersion and documents features by engine release.

Prerequisites

Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, or another Agent Skills-compatible tool. SQLAnvil engine for running projects.
