About
Baichuan2-13B-Chat is the aligned conversational version of Baichuan2-13B, unveiled on September 6, 2023 by Baichuan Intelligent Technology, the startup founded by former Sogou CEO Wang Xiaochuan. The base model was trained on 2.6 trillion high-quality multilingual tokens, and the chat variant was fine-tuned with RLHF for dialogue.
The release included 7B and 13B base and chat versions plus 4-bit quantized chat builds, and Baichuan also open-sourced training checkpoints. All versions are fully open for academic research, while commercial use is free after obtaining permission via email request under the Baichuan 2 community license.
