About
GigaChat Max is the flagship model of Sber's GigaChat family, Russia's leading homegrown large language model line. The GigaChat 2.0 generation, launched in April 2025, made Max available to all users with multimodal skills: audio recognition, image analysis, web content extraction, music generation, and long-context dialogue, described in the family's ACL 2025 system paper as a mixture-of-experts architecture pretrained from scratch on Russian.
It is a proprietary, API-only model (openWeights: false here) accessed through Sber's user API, Telegram bot, and web demo, with a Lite and Pro range below it. Sber positions Max for complex professional tasks, and in 2025 Russia announced plans to deploy GigaChat aboard the International Space Station for satellite-imagery processing.
