About
Playground v3 (paper September 2024, arXiv 2409.10695) is a 24B-parameter DiT diffusion model that fuses a Llama-3 LLM into the diffusion backbone via "deep-fusion" cross-attention — the image model reasons with the LLM rather than consuming frozen embeddings. Reported DPG-Bench Hard 88.62 (vs Ideogram 2.0 80.12, Flux Pro 78.69) and 82% text-synthesis accuracy in the technical report — treat paper numbers as provider-claimed.
The catch is access: the API is partner-gated (prioritized for >1M images/month partners; others join a waitlist), so most users experience v3 through the Playground canvas product, not the API. Consumer Pro plans ($12/mo) include a worldwide royalty-free commercial license to generated images.
