Runway Gen-4.5

Runway Gen-4.5 is Runway's flagship text-to-video and image-to-video model, released December 1, 2025 as the successor to Gen-4. Built on a new architecture rather than an incremental update, it targets temporal consistency and physical accuracy, with stronger prompt adherence for complex multi-step instructions. It scored 1,247 Elo on the Artificial Analysis text-to-video leaderboard at launch, surpassing every other model at the time.

Gen-4.5 is available through Runway's platform and inside Adobe Firefly following a multi-year strategic partnership announced December 18, 2025. It is a closed, API-and-web-only model: there are no public weights, and generations are metered at 12 credits per second on Runway plans.
