About
SeaLLM-7B-v2.5 is the flagship of the SeaLLMs project from Alibaba's DAMO Academy in Singapore, built specifically for Southeast Asian languages: Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Malay, Khmer, Lao, Tagalog, and Burmese, alongside English and Chinese. At release it outperformed GPT-3.5 on multilingual knowledge benchmarks (MMLU, M3Exam, VMLU) and surpassed GPT-3.5 on MATH.
The SeaLLMs family (technical report arXiv:2312.00738) later grew to include SeaLLM3 and SeaLLMs-Audio, an audio-language model for the region. Weights are public under the custom SeaLLMs Terms of Use — not an OSI-approved license, so commercial users should read the terms.
